Katie Thornsvard, MAC, CPA, has spent her career in senior finance and administrative leadership roles at institutions including Duke University and the University of North Carolina, as well as in the nonprofit sector. Through her firm, Katie Thornsvard Consulting, MAC, CPA, PLLC, she provides accounting, tax, and financial consulting services to help businesses strengthen their financial strategy, accounting and operations.
Through her own experience as a working artist, Katie recognized a clear gap in professional financial support for artists and creators—services that truly understand how creative businesses operate. She now works directly with artists and creators, offering practical, no-jargon accounting and tax services grounded in both professional expertise and lived creative experience.
In addition to her consulting practice, Katie is the owner of Wild Thorn Collective, where she creates and sells whimsical, colorful artwork. This blend of deep financial expertise and firsthand creative experience gives her a grounded, approachable perspective—whether she’s advising an institution or helping creatives build sustainable businesses.
